signage for the house

I thought that it was time to make some signs that would help me find my way home or to the shop.

I found a saw handle and used a program called "BigPrint" to make the handle size that I could use. I used the same program to make the template to make the saw plate. The local high school metal shop was kind enough to cut out the plate and the lettering. A plasma cutter was used to cut the letters.

I marked out the kerf for the saw blade and then sawed it down with my carcass saw.

I excavated the kerf with my 1/8" bench chisel.

The lettering is a little off, but you get the idea.

The mahogany handles will stay a nice red I think and the steel will age to a nice rust color.
So what do you think? Do you think that I will be able to find my way to the shop now?
